I know… I know… It’s really been a while. I haven’t been acting like I’m committed to running this blog. But I have a pretty darn good reason… I think.

My best friend and I, you’ve probably seen some pictures of her before, have opened up a store. Yep, that’s right. AN ONLINE STORE! Our store is called Caffeinated Flowers. We love retail therapy and DIYs. So we figured, why not share it with the world? Buddha did say, “Happiness never decreases by being shared.”

So what exactly are we selling? A lot of stuff. We just launched today, October 12, 2013, so our store is pretty well stocked. Let me show you some of the things that are up for sale…

It’s been a long time coming

September 3, 2013 § 10 Comments

First off, I’d like to apologize for my unannounced hiatus. I didn’t mean for it to happen… It sort of just happened on its own. I got back from my relaxing two week vacation home around two weeks ago or so.

Since then, I’ve been busily moving from my apartment that was a 10 minute bike ride away from school to my current one which is 20 to 30 minutes away. Logical, I know. This new place is nice and big despite the fact that it’s unfurnished unlike my last one. It’s been such a blessing to have a closet that’s the length of my wall and also to have enough room to properly do yoga in. I’m almost done furnishing/decorating it but I still have a couple things left to do.

Now, on to the fun stuff… I’ve been shopping. I shopped a lot while I was home (mostly yoga clothes). I’ve also recently done a lot of shopping at F21.

I don’t know about you but I think F21 is a place for teenagers go to shop for things that look trendy but aren’t really that great. I’ve really tried to make an effort to look my age (and perhaps older) and I think I’ve been quite successful. But my recent trip to a nearby F21 got me shopping.

Here’s what I bought…

CLOTHES

Taupe Sweater $22.80 (M) | Brown Buckled Boots $42.80 (7) | Elephant printed leggings $11.80 (S) | Brown sunglasses $5.80 | Printed Maxi Dress $17.80 (S) | Marled Sweater $22.80 (M)

I suppose I have back to school shopping in mind! I don’t start until later this month so I have quite a bit of time to gather some essentials for the new school year. Although, I will probably be showing up to class in my yoga clothes more than anything else. Twenty minute bike rides to school can get pretty sweaty… if you know what I mean.

I normally get excited about new purchases but I seem to have a dilemma! I’m not sure if I should keep the shoes!

BOOTS

They’ve got a lot of buckles… But the heel is perfect and I love the color. It’s like they’re the ugly cousin of the beautiful Jeffrey Campbell Everly boot. They seem to be made better than most F21 shoes which is another plus. But I’m still unsure!

So… I need help. What do you think about these beautifully hideous boots? Yay or nay?

Until next time (:

Thrift & Six Flags

August 1, 2013 § 4 Comments

I’ve had a busy couple of days trying to spend some time with my boyfriend before I head home for two weeks.

On Tuesday my boyfriend and I went thrifting at a local Saver’s. I got a couple of good things for under just $10!

thrifting The tan tank is from bebe and I thought it was so… sexy. The black long tank on the right is sadly not long enough to be a dress but I’ve been very inspired by Eat, Pray, Love lately so I bought it.

The black tank on the left has a really delicate lace detail in the middle of the neckline which makes it absolutely lovely and unique. The bright pink tank on the right is from Express and thought it would be perfect for yoga.

shopping

I also bought myself my first ever beanie! It is also the only California related paraphernalia that I own and I’m glad that it’s something as simple as a beanie.

The last thing I’ve accumulated from this week and is also my favorite thing is a watch that my boyfriend got me. I’m pretty sure I will treasure this baby forever.

shopping

Yesterday, I went to Six Flags Magic Mountain for the first time. It was really hot. Surprisingly, I’m not as jazzed about roller coasters as I used to be. Maybe I’m getting old…

OOTDHigh waisted shorts from the Rose Bowl | Grey Vans | Cropped eagle tank from F21 | Thrifted Flannel

Here’s what I wore to Six Flags. It was comfy and light weight which was perfect for the heat. I wish Vans were easier to walk around in for long periods of time but they’re pretty much my only sneakers.

After Six Flags, my boyfriend and I went to eat dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in LA county. I highly recommend eating at Lemonade if you’re ever near one of their locations.

The Damage

July 6, 2013 § 3 Comments

I may live about an hour away from the beautiful California coastline, but that doesn’t mean I don’t live far from a pool! I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect swimsuit for ages.

I found this one piece on Top Shop quite a while ago and I have been eyeing it ever since. However, I’ve been quite quite hesitant about laying down $72 despite the fact that it is über cute…

topshop

…but I can’t justify the tan! I figure that sometimes you just have to say no cute things. C’est la vie.

I also scoured Victoria’s Secret and American Apparel’s candidates online for some cute swim suits but alas, nothing turned up.

I went to the mall today and even though it took a while to find, I found the perfect swim suit! I had to buy it from two different stores, but I had a good idea of what I wanted: printed bottoms and a white top.

shopping

White bandeau top from Target | Pink paisley bottoms from Pac Sun | Light rose sweater is from Pac Sun

As luck would have it, Pac Sun was having a buy one, get one free on all of their sale items. I was able to buy the rose sweater (which reminds me so much of the things that Wildfox sells) and the swim suit bottoms for a little over $20. The white swim top from Target was also around $20.

I have been shopping quite a bit lately but I’m pretty happy with these purchases. You can’t beat ~$40 for a whole beach/pool-side outfit!

It’s been hot here in Riverside. But I can’t seem to let go of wearing jeans! They’re so comfy. Here’s what I wore the other day as I didn’t have the time to take a picture of my outfit yesterday. I also realize that this is the first picture I’m posting of my face(even if you can’t really see it well), so hello!

Liz Claiborne bag | Levi’s Skinny Boyfriend Jeans | Basic scoop neck tee from Old Navy

Yesterday, I went thrifting with my boyfriend at our local Savers. We spent two hours there, perhaps even more. There were a couple good things for the ladies but I wasn’t much up for scouring the racks because I had told myself to stay true to my $20 budget. My boyfriend, however, found a bunch of stuff and walked away from our little excursion with two big bags filled with goodies. I think we might even be going back on Monday because it’ll be 50% off all clothing items… We’re addicted.

Here is what I thrifted…

thrift finds

  • The floppy(?) hat has no brand and it was $1.99 which I thought was a total steal! It doesn’t fit perfectly around my head because I have a huge head of hair. But, that didn’t keep me from buying it.
  • The oversized polka dot shirt is from a brand called Karen Scott was $4.99. I decided to cut around three inches off the bottom to accommodate my size.
  • The pants are from Levi’s, super high waisted, and could be worn as boyfriend jeans because of the way the ankle is cut. It only cost me $4.99! But I’m still contemplating if I should keep them the way they are or turn them into shorts.
  • Finally, my pride and joy, the pleated skirt. I’ve been looking for the perfect pleated skirt for what seems like forever. This is from a brand called Angel and was the most expensive item I bought at $7.99.

I signed up or bloglovin’ so please, follow my blog with Bloglovin! I also plan on posting something about how my room is set up over the summer. So, stay tuned for that. Until next time :3
